Events
1) Telecon with AFSPC/CD, AFSPC/CIO and DIUx in order to discuss possible DIUx support to AFSPC's approach to enterprise IT as a service. DIUx and AFSPC will continue coordination efforts.
2) Meeting with AMB Karl Eikenberry
--Will support his Spring Quarter class at Stanford entitled Technology and National Security. Worked on curriculum development and have agreement for COMACC to come as a guest lecturer towards the end of the term.
3) Seminar with Dr. Elliot Cohen (former DoS Counselor) on civ-mil relationships. Large group session focused around jargon, training, and methods
---Followed by a small group with Dr. Cohen and the NSAF cohort.
4) Attended SecState discussion on Syria moderated by Dr. C. Rice.

5) Private lunch with Ted Koppel and military members/veterans
--Topic centered around cybersecurity of critical infrastructure and his book Lights Out
6) Attended seminar on Talent Management of Technical Individuals
--Moderated by Ted Koppel, attendees were DCG ARCYBER, Dir Defense Digital Service, Dr. Herb Lin (CISAC) and two Stanford students
--BG JP MeGee (DCG ARCYBER) spoke about the Army's Direct Commissioning program for cyber operators
--I spoke to specific students about AF Cyber career options following the event
7) Attended roundtable event with SecState Schultz, SecState Rice and other members of the ASPEN group
--Discussed intellectual property of foreign students attending American educational institutions and then returning to home nations
8) Joint curriculum development program for new Stanford Class centered around Information Warfare and Sun Tzu
--Team is mainly Stanford PhD fellows, a few student researchers, the CISO at SLACK.
--Each meeting centers around two of Sun Tzu's stratagems and how info war parallels to the lenses of military, policy, strategy, and more

- Planning planning conference between USSOCOM/USCYBERCOM planners. Goal is to leverage strengths from both commands. Dr. Herb Lin, Stanford CISAC, is trying to set this up for the spring. USSOCOM/CoS sourcing SOF attendees and UCC/J5 planners looking for options.

OpEd (Real Clear Defense): MAD Lesson for Cyber. Taking parallels for the governments efforts during the Cold War to today/s cyberspace environment.
Analysis of 2017 Presidential Executive Order on Strengthening Federal Networks and Cybersecurity of Critical Infrastructure (Doctoral Requirement). Dissected policy, compared against President Obama's 2013 EO and made recommendations for improvement.
Current Research:
Air Force: Four historical strategists take on cyber. Plan is to assess how Thucydides, Jomini, A.J. Mahan, Herman Kahn would approach cyber strategy. Thucydides, Jomini, Mahan, Kahn. Currently drafting Thucydides section. Each will also have a smaller OpEd possible for The Hill.
Doctoral: The role of private foundations in high school. Plan is assess the positive benefits of private foundations and what happens in school districts that do not have private foundations. Dissertation plan approved.
